Mojo Lime was applied at a rate of 2.5 gal per acre on both plots, 1 week prior to planting.
A variable rate fertilizer protocol (that was common to the area and soil type) was applied to both plots: 60 units of nitrogen and 30 units of potassium.
At mid season, NuCrop 12-6-6 with micros was applied to both plots at a rate of 1 quart per acre.
Grasshopper 21-0-24 was applied at a rate of 6.25 lbs per acre to the Test/Grasshopper plot only. And then again 3 weeks later by airplane. Applications were made during early boll development.
The total added cost to the Test/Grasshopper plot was $22.50 per acre.
Yield of the control plot (treated with the standard fertility protocol) was 991 lbs per acre.
Yield of the Test/Grasshopper plot was 1,083 lbs per acre – a 92 lb increase.
