Becoming a Dealer

Below are qualities that Grasshopper focuses on when adding a Dealer:

Person is currently involved in Agri-Business: Hay Production, Row Cropping, Ranching, Fertilizer or Herbicide Sales, Tractor or Equipment Sales, Feed Store Owners, Ag Teachers, Etc.
Person is a well respected member of their agricultural community.
Person is not associated in any way with a competing fertilizer product or company.
Person has a Building, Shop, or Barn that they could stock fertilizer in. This is not a requirement, but a preference.
Person is available during working hours (8-5) and not just weekends. Grasshopper Dealers will receive a very high volume of calls. It is important that they have enough time in their schedule to receive and return these calls and e-mails.
Person has used Grasshopper Fertilizer. This will help our Dealer when dealing with customers and answering difficult questions.
Person has the financial ability to purchase Grasshopper Fertilizer in 1 plt quantities (or more). It is important to have appropriate inventory levels for customers. A Dealer with insufficient inventory will lose sales on a regular basis.

Our Commitment

All of our Dealers will receive their own coverage area. This area will be honored by Grasshopper and our Dealers. Grasshopper will not sell to customers in this assigned coverage area unless requested to do so. Grasshopper will not set up any other Dealers in this coverage area. Grasshopper may reduce your coverage area in some circumstances.

Example: Currently, there are no Dealers in California. If a Dealer is established, Grasshopper may give the Dealer the entire state for an undetermined time. At a later date, Grasshopper may decide to split California between two dealers if one is having trouble covering the entire state. The goal is to add sales. If we are losing sales, we will make changes.

Grasshopper will provide our Dealers with brochures and labels for our products. These brochures will have their company information and phone numbers—not ours. This will help our Dealers market Grasshopper Fertilizer locally at Feed Stores, Sale Barns, Co-ops, Etc.

Unlike other Chemical Companies who set up Dealers and then compete against them, we will support our Dealer to the best of our ability.

How to Get Started

If you have not used Grasshopper Fertilizer, we recommend that you do.

Contact us at 888-870-9212 to see if a Dealership is available in your area.

If so, place an order: we recommend a 3 plt order. We do not add Dealers to our website until a Dealer has purchased 3 plts of fertilizer. We receive daily calls inquiring about dealerships. Many of these calls are an attempt to purchase fertilizer at a cheaper price. For this reason, we apply the 3 plt rule. Start-up Dealers may purchase Grasshopper in smaller quantities and then re-sell the product, but we will not add them to our website until they have purchased 3 plts.
